Apprehensive - viewing the future with anxiety or alarm

"Young Lady you seem a bit apprehensive" The cashier replied, "oh what does that mean?" I inquired, "You don't know what apprehensive means?" "No, is it a bad thing?" I asked her if she was still in school and what grade she was in if she was. She replied, "I'm a junior at Public High School." Well I guess that answers any questions I may have had about putting my children in Government Indoctrination Centers (aka Public School). Maybe they have banned dictionaries at school now along with God. Wow, what great education this young lady is getting from the stolen government funds.

Lunch with Governor Huckabee

April 20, 2007, I met hopefully the next President of the United States. The afternoon began a short question and answer session with local pastors and prayer. It was refreshing to listen to someone that did not just decide he was a conservative Christian. Governor Huckabee held true to his faith, even when he was questioned about things he disagreed with. He carried himself well during the question and answer session. He spoke strongly for second amendment rights and Religious freedom. I was impressed with his position on the second amendment. He is the first politician I have heard in a while acknowledge the Second Amendment is for my ability to defend myself, family, and property. He also acknowledged it gave me the ability to protect myself against a tyrannical government. Governor Huckabee expressed he was in favor of personalized Social Security, less government, less taxes, prolife, and willing to leave me alone. Huckabee for President 08

What happens to the simple minded?

Proverbs 14:15 A simple man believes anything, but a prudent man gives thought to his steps. (NIV)

I recently found myself in a heated discussion with a couple of wally-world employees about gun control. We went round and round discussing gun control. Every time I presented evidence to oppose gun control the employee would not answer the facts or even acknowledge them. I found myself frustrated. As I drove home, I dwelt on the conversation trying to understand why this employee felt like he did. Then I realized he is the kind of simple person this passage is talking about. He believes everything he hears on the television, newspaper, etc. It’s easy to be simple. It requires no effort. They believe the government is going to protect, provide, and meet all of their needs. Whether its gun control, welfare, or working an entry level job at wally-world, they look for the easy way out. Where does the simple end up?

Proverbs 1:32 For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them; (NIV)

VT President shares blame in Massacre!

The Virginia Tech President shares responsibility in the slaying of these students. The Virginia legislature failed to pass a measure that would allow students with a concealed weapon permit carry on the school property. The VT president lobbied against it and applauded the government for not passing it. He retorted that the students and their parents could now feel safe at the school. Hey Prez, you think those helpless students feel safe now. I am sure every one of those dead students’ parents appreciates you forcing them to be defenseless at your university. No one was able to defend themselves. I guess that gun control thing is doing a real good job. Stopping all of those law abiding students with a CWP from carrying their gun stopped all the violence. I guess someone forgot to inform the murderer.

Separation of powers?

Apparently the democrats have never read the constitution. The President of the United States (POTUS) is the Commander in Chief. Federal prosecutors serve at the whim of POTUS. The congress gave President Bush the authority to hunt and kill terrorist. They (the congress) said lets pick a fight. Once you start a fight, you had better finish it. I made the mistake one time of letting a guy up before he was whipped. What did my mercy get me? He sucker punched me. After that I made sure he could not get up and sucker punch me again. POTUS decides when the troops come home, not the congress. He decides if a federal prosecutor has a job. Even if the dismals of federal prosecutors were political so what? That is the privilege of being POTUS. President Bush can wake up, not like his cereal and randomly fire every other prosecutor. He can decide he doesn’t like blue ties and fire everyone wearing one. That is the privilege of POTUS. I don’t recall the media or dumbacrats being outraged at Slick Willy firing prosecutors in an active investigation of other democrats for corruption. Of course everyone knows that the rules don’t apply to dumbacrats, just ask Senator Webb. Everyone else has to walk around defenseless; Senator Webb can carry his gun. You can’t.
